Navigating SFUSD’s New Math Curriculum: A Workshops Series for Families (Session 1)
Math is changing in SFUSD, and families have a key role to play. This three-part series invites us to learn, reflect, and plan together as we navigate the district’s new math curriculum. In the first session, we will focus on understanding the big picture: why the district made this shift, what the curriculum is, and what it aims to accomplish. In the second, we will dive deeper into how the curriculum works in practice, including what we should know about grade-level standards and content for our children. In the final session, we will look ahead and plan how to help our children finish the year strong and step into the next grade ready to grow. Across all three sessions, we will gain practical tools, deepen our understanding of the new math curriculum, and connect with other families as we support our young mathematicians.
