SF Kids Can't Wait Progress Tracker

SFUSD Made Bold Promises for SF Public School Kids. We're Tracking Whether They Deliver.

SFUSD leaders love to make big announcements, but what actually happens next? This tracker cuts through the spin to show you real progress, not just press releases.

The Clock is Ticking

SFUSD set ambitious goals and time is running out.

These aren’t just nice goals, they’re important commitments to our city’s students, with a deadline of 2027.

Why We Made This Tracker

Here's the thing: SFUSD loves making bold promises.

But parents and teachers know the real question isn’t what gets announced, it’s what actually happens.

That’s where we come in. Our tracker makes those promises public. It shows, in plain language, what SFUSD said they would do, and whether they are doing it. We believe that when families can see real progress (or lack of it), we can push for better decisions, faster action, and stronger schools for every child.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about our kids. We’re here to make sure the district delivers.

That’s why we sent four demands that center student outcomes to our districts leaders to see stronger reading and math curriculum, better teacher supports, and clearer expectations.

SF Kids Can't Wait Progress Tracker

The demands SFUSD needs to deliver. No spin, no excuses, just the facts.

Our Promise: We’ll update this tracker with green, yellow, or red indicators.

When the district delivers evidence-based progress, we’ll celebrate the wins. When they don’t you’ll know, and so will everyone else.

Parent Power Works
When We Stay Organized

We already got SFUSD to adopt better reading and math curricula. Now we need to make sure they actually do what they promised. Join thousands of families holding the district accountable.

Share this tracker. Bookmark it. Let SFUSD know you’re watching, because transparency works when we demand it together for SF’s kids.

We got them to listen!

Now we make sure they follow through!

The School Board

Who's Fighting for Our Kids?

The School Board sets priorities, approves where money goes, and decides whether this vision happens or becomes another broken promise.

This tracker doesn’t just measure district promises, it shines a light on every major Board vote that affects our kids.

We track the votes. We connect the dots. We make it public. Because when kids’ futures are at stake, accountability isn’t optional—it’s everything.

Parent advocacy already moved this district to adopt stronger curricula. Now we’re keeping both the Board and the district honest about following through.

Our Demands

What SFUSD Must Deliver

Learn more about our demands

Kids behind in reading or math should get small-group or extra help during the school day, using ways that are proven to work.

How We’re Evaluating: Public Intervention Data

  • District shares updates every few months on reading and math progress.
  • Reports broken down by student groups, including special education.
  • Universal screener is being used to identify early intervention needs.

By June 2026, every TK–8 class should use the new reading and math programs. The district should share proof and clear rules for lessons.

How We’re Evaluating: Family Conferences with Real Information

  • Teachers review STAR & SBAC scores and report cards with families each fall and spring.
  •  Families get clear training on what data mean.
  •  By Fall 2026, report cards include SBAC and state test results.

Teachers should meet with families twice a year to go over test scores and report cards and explain what they mean.

How We’re Evaluating: Curriculum Implementation Audit

  •  By June 2026, 95% of math and 100% of reading classrooms use the new curriculum
  •  District shares public proof.
  • The District has a plan to support combination classes to ensure integrity of curriculum implementation and student learning.

Teachers and aides should get paid training and coaching many times a year, not just once. By June 2026, 90% should finish training on the new math program.

How We’re Evaluating: Ongoing Teacher Support

  • Teachers and aides receive ongoing, paid training and coaching.
  •  By June 2026, 90% complete training on new math program.
  • District gathers feedback to improve training quality.
