SF Parent Coalition launched a petition to call on San Francisco education leaders to ensure that every public school student learns to read at grade level. Our curriculum is outdated, ineffective, and it's failing our students. SFUSD falls in the bottom 10% of the 287 districts in the CA Reading Report Card. SFUSD gets an “F” in supporting Latinx students in meeting reading standards.
It's time for parents, educators, and the community to stand up for our students and demand that SFUSD commit to serving its 50,000 students with high-quality reading and writing instruction.
